Grown on the plains. Made for the plate
We’ve set our sights on raising the bar for potato products worldwide. That’s why we’re planting roots for our first U.S.-based potato processing plant in Grand Forks, North Dakota. We’ll be bringing locally grown potatoes from the Red River Valley in North Dakota and Minnesota to tables around the U.S. – and tailoring each bite to regional tastes. Because when it comes to hearty, authentic fries, there’s no better place to source potatoes than the heart of the heartland.
About Agristo
From the dream of two childhood friends to one of the lead players in the global potato market, Agristo has been developing high-quality, innovative and authentic potato-inspired delight for nearly four decades. With more than 1,500 employees (we call them “Potatoholics”), and six production sites in four countries, we’ve grown a lot from the modest family business we started in 1986. But at our heart, we’re still a family company, upholding our long-term family values, and maintaining our long-term commitment to the communities and people we serve.
Why Grand Forks?
As a premier, private label producer of fries and other potato-inspired products – we need to go where the potatoes grow! Where the climate is perfect for potato cultivation, and where farmers have expertise in high-quality growing and storing of potatoes. That’s Grand Forks, North Dakota!
About our Grand Forks facility
Our new potato processing facility in Grand Forks, North Dakota, will become Agristo’s first production site in the US. It’s a big move, and one we’ll roll out in carefully planned phases, tailored to the needs of the local community and U.S. market.

-
Fall 2025
We’ll start moving dirt on site (think of it like getting the garden ready)!
-
Spring 2026
Facility construction. It will take almost two years to build our site from the ground up.
-

Equipment will start rolling in.
-
September 2028

We aren’t stopping with fries! We’ll be expanding into other potato fan favorites.
