Blood donation @Agristo

Potatoholics save lives

Agristo is once again organizing a blood donation at the headquarters in Wielsbeke in collaboration with the Belgian Red Cross. It’s the third time we’ve opened our doors for this initiative, and once again we could count on a great turnout from both employees and neighbors.

Making a difference together

Blood donation is a small act, but it can make a big difference. Everyone knows someone who’s needed blood at some point — after an accident, during surgery, childbirth, or while undergoing treatment. By offering a moment at work to donate, we lower the threshold to do something that truly matters.

For us, that just makes sense. At Agristo, we value connection — even beyond the workplace. Initiatives like this perfectly reflect our Care for People value, which we don’t just see as a guideline, but as a guiding principle in how we treat one another.

We take care of all the practical arrangements: registration, communication and support are coordinated with the Red Cross, ensuring everyone can donate safely and comfortably. During the previous blood drive, dozens of colleagues signed up — some for the first time, others as part of their yearly routine. Neighbors and external partners are also welcome, which always adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We care about well-being. Not just by focusing on physical and mental health, but also by creating space for initiatives that support it in a broader sense. By making blood donation possible during working hours, we give employees the chance to do something truly meaningful. In doing so, we take shared responsibility — because well-being isn’t just about individual balance, it’s also about feeling part of an organization that cares about people, both inside and outside the company walls.

Donating blood doesn’t take much effort, but it can save lives. The fact that we can do this together makes it all the easier.
